Acushnet – Bette T. (Roderick) Elgar, 66, of Acushnet died at home after a long illness on June 20, 2009. She was the wife of Richard J. Elgar.
Mrs. Elgar was born in New Bedford, daughter of Theresa T. (Brillo) Roderick of and the late Lionel P. Roderick, and resided in Acushnet most of her life. She was employed as a computer manager by Cornell Dubilier and later as an office manager by Arjay National Corp., until leaving due to illness in 1996. She was a member of the Acushnet Grange #435 P of H. She enjoyed computers, cooking and genealogy.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her daughter: Theresa T. O’Connor and her husband Stephen; her son: Paul J. St. Don and his wife Zora; a sister: Cynthia Sylvia; 2 grandchildren: Samantha O’Connor and Jackson St. Don; and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 immediately following the visiting hours at 7:30 P.M.
