Beverly Eileen Jordan, 69, of Ocilla died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Marlin Hartley will officiate with burial to follow at Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. David Eastnacht, William Spradlin, Tim Spradlin, Buford Spradlin, Kenneth Hartley, Brandon Hartley, Jarrett Jordan and Dustin Jordan will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Lupo, Jeremy Jordan, Bennie Jordan and Ricky Davis. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Jordan was born on September 4, 1940 in Columbus and was the daughter of James W. Hemby and Elise Hartley Hemby, both deceased. She was a homemaker and retired waitress. She was under Hospice care for the last five months and will go to eternal rest with her son, Donald Kevin Len, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Jordan is survived by her husband, James Leroy Jordan of Ocilla; four sons, Lawrence Henderson Hartley of Helen, Dewey Hartley of Phenix City, Alabama, David Joseph Hartley of Roopville, and Sgt. 1st Class Calvin Eugene Stafford of Marshall Island in the U.S. Army; one daughter, Ramona Malette “Lett” Lupo of West Berrien Community; 23 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two step-sons, Andy Jordan of Nashville and Tony Jordan of Douglas; one step-daughter, Lorie Parks of Nashville; and a dear friend, Frances Hopkins.
