Obituary

Jesup- Mrs. Sally Madray Yeomans, age 89, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Wayne County. She was a member of Altamaha Baptist Church, where she had served as a Sunday School teacher, worked with the summer bible school program and also sang with the choir. She was a homemaker and lived on the family farm. She spent many years working at Sullivans and Mooney’s department stores. She and B.L. had been active members in the C.C. Riders R.V. Camping Club, an avid gardener, accomplished seamstress, known cook, and loved horses, dogs and wildlife.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B.L. Yeomans Jr.
Surviving are two daughters: Rebecca Yeomans of Jesup; Zebe Y.C. and husband Jack Schmitt of Port St. Joe, FL and his three children Debbie, Michael, and Eric; one son: James L. Yeomans of Jesup and his daughter Cindy Valentine and granddaughter Melissa Martinez ; a beloved grandson: Cannon Schmitt and his life partner Dana Seitler; one great- grandson: Beckett River Seitler Schmitt of Toronto, Canada; one brother: Ashley Madray of Jesup; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Altamaha Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Active Pallbearers will be David Tankersley, Ben Surrency, Cary Surrency, Brian Surrency, Charlie Madray and Caleb Peacock.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the C.C. Riders R.V. Camping Club.

The family would like to acknowledge Health Department Home Care Services, Hospice of South Georgia and caregiver Joanna Maria Evans.
