Thomas J. Quann, II, 50, of New Bedford died July 21, 2003 at St. Luke's Hospital after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
He was the son of the late Thomas J. and Julietta (Jacques) Quann.
Mr. Quann was born in New Bedford and lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
Mr. Quann was formerly employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 19 years and later at Acushnet Company for 5 years.
He enjoyed reading, history and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Quann attended all of his granddaughter Alyssa's sporting events. He was a diehard New York Yankees fan and looked forward to his annual trip to Las Vegas.
Mr. Quann played softball for over 20 years.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Diane Sylvia of New Bedford; 2 sons, Thomas J. Quann, III and Ian Aresta, both of New Bedford; a daughter, Jennifer Quann of New Bedford; a brother, Joseph Quann of New Bedford; 3 sisters, Mary Brownell of Dartmouth, Maureen Woolley of New Bedford and Patricia Camara of Acushnet; 2 grandchildren, Alyssa Quann and Aaron Joseph Quann Pereira; several nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordThursday, July 24th at 8 AM.Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 9 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Wednesday, July 23rd from 4-7 PM.
Interment private.
