Obituary
Dorothy (Laplante) Fournier, 78, of Lawrence, died peacefully Saturday, June 13, 2009, at the Lawrence General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family after a sudden illness. She was the wife of the late Edmond M. Fournier, to whom she was married to for 48 years at the time of his death in 2002.
Dot was born in Lawrence where she attended St. Anne’s Grammar and High School. She was a former parishioner of St. Anne’s, St. Francis’ and St. Monica’s parishes.
Dot was the daughter of late Alcide and Blanche Laplante and sister of the late Rene (Buster) Laplante. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and John Ruggiero, of Kingston, NH and her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kimberly, of Dracut, MA; four grandchildren, Eric Ruggiero, Laura Ruggiero, Zach Ruggiero, and Justin Fournier; along with two great grandchildren, Mason Ruggiero and Megan Ruggiero.
She also will be missed by her best friends, Therese Desbiens and Edna Roy, along with several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Monica’s Church, Methuen at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2009, followed by burial at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
