Obituary

KREBS, DOROTHY M. (JOHNSON), 85, of Louisville, passed away Sunday with her family at her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis J. "Bud" Krebs, and brothers Tom and Albert "Bo" Johnson. Her mother, Ellen Miller, died on the same day 21 years ago.

Dorothy was so proud of the five beautiful daughters she leaves behind, Beverly Kirchner (Jim), Donna Cox (Greg), Janice Mialback (Terry), Jeanene Hoffmann (Steve) and Cheryl Miller (Gary), all of Louisville. She has 13 grandchildren who truly loved her like a mother and seven great-grandchildren. Dorothy was born March 13, 1924, and lived all of her life in Louisville, working 16 years in accounting at Southern Star Klarer of Ky.

She was a true free spirit who could dance her partners off their feet until the day she left us. She loved crisscrossing the country in her pickup, SUV or VW bus to visit her family or take part in a Navy ship reunion, but she also enjoyed settling in for her weekly bingo games and bowling league. Dorothy was a strong, independent woman who instilled that spirit in her daughters, and was the heart of a very close family. She was a member of American Legion Dixie Post 220, Moose Lodge and several other VFW groups.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1925 Lewiston Dr., with burial at St. Michael Cemetery.
