Silvania (Silvia) Tavares, age 87, passed away June 13, 2009. Wife of Arcenio "Larry" Tavares and daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Francisco) Silvia. She was a parishioner of Espirito Santo Church and was a retired zipper setter at the former Cherry Dress Co. She greatly loved and adored her family.
Besides her husband of Fall River, she is survived by daughter Debra Couturier of Fall River, 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 1 niece and 1 nephew. She was mother of the late Patricia Rodrigues and sister of the late Elvira Ferreira, Alice Pereira and William and John Silvia.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. WEDNESDAY at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Espirito Santo Church at 9 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours TUESDAY 4-8 P.M.
