Gerhard Fritz Tietz, of Carver formerly of Pembroke, passed away on June 11th at Jordan Hospital at the age of 70. Beloved husband of the late Alice (Totten), he is survived by his daughter Ursula Sousa and her husband Frank of Bristol, RI and his son Gerhard “Jerry” Tietz Jr of Carver. He also leaves his sisters Hildeguard Glover of Plymouth and Ursula Barter of Medford, his brother Ouli Tietz of Germany, his 3 grandchildren Megan Niles of S. Hadley, Stephanie Bergeron of Warren, RI and Douglas Bergeron of Bristol, RI and 2 great grandchildren. Gerhard was born in Germany and moved to the U.S when he was 17. He lived in Pembroke for 27 years before moving to Carver and he was a self-employed contractor for many years. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St (Rt 3A), N. Plymouth on Sunday June 14th from 4 to 7 PM. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
