Mrs. Dolly McLeod Taylor, 78, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M. Thursday, June 11, at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Barry Gordon officiating. Visitation will be held 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Taylor was born August 1, 1930 in Telfair County to the late John C. and Lota Bell Davis McLeod. She lived in Fitzgerald most of her life and was a former resident of St. Augustine, FL and Tampa, FL. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Fitzgerald Underwear. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Northside Baptist Church and attended Prospect Baptist Church.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lee & Diane Taylor of St. Augustine, FL; grandchildren, Solomon Lee Taylor, Jr. and Emilee D. Taylor of St. Augustine, FL; sister, Corine M. Powell of Fitzgerald; brother & sister-in-law, Jesse & Wilma McLeod of Louisville, KY as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Solomon “Sam” Taylor, daughter, Peggy E. Taylor, four brothers and three sisters.
