Obituary

Lawrence R. Trottier, 91, of 129 Gilford Ave. died July 18, 2003 at Lakes Region general Hospital after a period of failing health. He was born in Franklin NH on December 2, 1911, the son of William and Joanna (Gaffney) Trottier. He has resided in Laconia since 1950.

He began his working career with his father at William Trottier & Son Plumbing & Heating. He then worked for Scott & Williams Company in the Drilling Department as a machinist and supervisor for twenty-six years. H e later worked for Francoeur & Gill Plumbing & Heating as an installer for a brief period.<>Mr. Trottier was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Scott & Williams and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He was a life member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks # 876 and was beginning his 70th year as an Elk.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and held membership in the VFW Post 1670 of Laconia. A very talented artisan, he participated in many local craft fairs.

His wife, Edna Rose (Hale) Trottier died in 1977.

Family members include several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Dorothy Carr and Margaret Trottier Butler and a brother, Ralph Trottier.

Calling hours were in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Monday from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue Tuesday at 10 AM. Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor was the celebrant. Burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The Laconia Lodge of Elks held a Session of Sorrow in the funeral home on Monday at 6:30PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, 780 North Main St., Laconia NH 03246.
