O’NEAL - Wayne O’Neal, 58, passed away Tuesday morning, June 9, 2008 at Baptist Medical Center in Fernandina Beach, FL. He was born April 24, 1951 in Miami, FL and moved to Nassauville when he was an infant. Later the family would move to O’Neal. Mr. O’Neal was a member of the 1970 graduating class of Fernandina Beach High School. After high school he worked at Container Corp. in Fernandina Beach for a while before joining the U. S. Army where he served for 14 years. Seven years ago Mr. O’Neal moved to Yulee from Orlando. He loved off-shore fishing, firearms and spending time with family and friends. He is described by his family as a loving man with a big heart who would help anyone. Survivors include two daughters, Christina O’Neal ( Jeffrey Viles) of Quincy, FL and Jennifer O’Neal (Shane Smith) of Kingsland, GA; a son, Jason Hershey; two sisters, Wanda Fay Nixon of Fernandina Beach, FL and Patti McCain of Clayton, NC; four grandchildren, Naya, Jeff Jr., Kaley and Shane Jr.; devoted friends, Billy and Marty Anderson and Marty Jones; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, at the home of Barbara Ann Taylor on Nassauville, Rd. Arrangements by Green Pine Funeral Home.
