Mr. Jerome A. “Jerry” Evans, of Taunton died Monday, June 8 at Morton Hospital
surrounded by his family, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Margaret R.
(Fernandes) Evans. He was born 73 years ago in Baltimore, Md., the son of the late
Clarence S. and Adele (Brown) Evans. He was educated in New York City and had
been a Taunton resident for the past 53 years. Prior to his retirement, he had been em-
ployed as a quality control inspector for Valentine Tool Co. in Norton for 38 years. Mr.
Evans was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He enjoyed fishing on Cape Cod, working on his
computers and spending time with his family. He was a communicant of St. Andrew the
Apostle Church.
In addition to his wife, he leaves:

1 daughter: Toni M. Barra and her husband, James of Onset
5 grandchildren
5 great grandchildren
several nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Friday, June 12 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Tremont Street, at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to
attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Expressions of
sympathy in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
