Hazel Maude Vaughn Boyd, 93 of Cartersville, died Friday, June 5 at Starcrest of Cartersville.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Friday, June 12 in the Chapel of Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald with Rev. Julian Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Boyd was born June 12, 1915 in Fitzgerald to the late William Henry and Otella Bernice Hunt Smith. After the death of her first husband in 1957, she moved to Brunswick in 1959 where she lived for almost forty years. Mrs. Boyd was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a member of Blythe Baptist Church. She moved back to Cartersville in 1996 and had been involved with Senior Friends.
Mrs. Boyd is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Mary Alice Sutton of Brunswick and Carol & Rudy Haase of Cartersville; grandchildren, Melinda Brighenti of Canton, Holly Sanders of Birmingham, AL, Michelle Thompson of Acworth, Donna Fletcher of Brunswick and Ray Sutton of Huntsville, AL; great grandchildren, Leighton Thompson, Griffin Thompson and Ashlee Sanders; sisters, Willie Jo Black of Hawkinsville and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Wilburn Odis Vaughn and Richard Lee Boyd, a son-in-law and several brothers and sisters.
