Marjorie Hare Bright, 88
Longtime seasonal resident of Osterville
CANTON - Marjorie Hare Bright, of Canton, died Friday evening, June 5, 2009, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Norwood. She was 88.
Born on Aug. 11, 1920, in Canton, the daughter of the late Robert G. and Helen (Eustis) Hare, she was raised and educated in Sharon. Mrs. Bright had been a Canton resident for more than 60 years and a seasonal resident of Osterville for more than 25 years.
Mrs. Bright had been employed for many years as the executive secretary to the president of Fisher College in Boston.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Canton and had been involved with various civic, charitable and community endeavors throughout her life.
A member of the Women's Club of Canton, she was a talented seamstress and wonderful cook, who enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband and had traveled the world over.
Mrs. Bright is survived by her husband of 66 years, John A. Bright; daughter, Carol Bright of Canton; granddaughters, Camille Bright and her husband Dr. Alex Nagle of New York, and Catherine Bright of Boston; grandson, Christopher Bright of Plainville; brothers, Donald E. Hare of Connecticut and Robert Randall "Randy" Hare of Framingham; and her daughters-in-law, Charlene Bright of Plainville and Maria D. Roque of Taunton. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sons, Eric Bright and John Russell "Russ" Bright; and sister, Virginia White.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial visitation on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Roache-Pushard Family Home for Funerals, 210 Sherman St., Canton. A private inurnment will be held at the Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton at a later date.
