Obituary

Charles F. Augenti, 80 years, of Brockton, died peacefully June 6, 2009 surrounded by his family at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. He was the devoted husband of Susan D. “Dolly” (Perrault) Augenti for 50 years. Born January 2, 1929, he was the son of the late Carlo and Mary E. (Nunes) Augenti. He was a lifelong resident of Brockton and spent his younger years in Ward 2. Charlie was a graduate of Brockton High School and earned a degree in Engineering at Lowell University. He served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Valley Forge. He had been employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for almost 40 years, and retired as a Civil Engineer in 1989. Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; was a skillful woodworker and former member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved to share stories of growing up in Ward 2, and many times contributed to the Brockton Enterprise Editorials.

He is also survived by two sons Charles F. Augenti, Jr. of Pawtucket, RI and Christopher A. Augenti of Monument Beach, Bourne; his grandchildren Nicole Marie, Chelsey Elizabeth, Michael Anthony, Madeline Sue, and Charles Mathieu; three great grandchildren; two brothers Robert Augenti of Tarpon Springs, FL and Henry Augenti of Taunton; a sister Jean Pechillis of Abington and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 11am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8pm.
