WORCESTER-Robert M. Noone, Sr., 56, of Worcester, died Thursday, June 4th in his home. He leaves a son, Robert M. Noone, Jr. and his wife Samantha of Merrimack, NH; his parents, Paul and Margaret (Connor) Noone of Worcester; four brothers, Paul and his wife, Barbara, Thomas and his wife, Suzanne, Andrew and his wife, Elizabeth and John Noone, all of Worcester; a sister, Mary Lacaire and her husband, Steven of West Boylston; a grandson, Brendan Noone of Merrimack, NH; nephews,nieces and his former wife, Sheila B. (Boland) Noone.
He was born in Worcester and graduated from South High School and Quinsigamond Community College. Mr. Noone joined the City of Worcester Fire Department in 1980. He was a firefighter on Engine 9 at the Pleasant Street station and later worked in Fire Prevention, retiring in 2002. He was a former member of the Worcester Firefighters International Association of Firefighters Local 1009, a volunteer at the St. Paul’s Cathedral Food Pantry and enjoyed collecting antique fire truck collectibles.
Calling hours are from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday, June 8th in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Paul’s Cathedral Food Pantry, 38 High Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
