Obituary

George H. Tustin, 87, of Mills River, North Carolina, died Friday, June 5, 2009 at his granddaughter’s home in Bellingham. He was the husband of Rosemarie (Mayer) Tustin for 31 years.

Born in Somerville on December 28, 1921, he was a son of the late Henry and Helen (Doherty) Tustin.

Mr. Tustin was a resident of Mills River, North Carolina for the past 28 years. Before his retirement, he was a truck driver for many years.

After retirement, he was a driver for the Carolina Community Action in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Mr. Tustin was Army veteran of WWII, attaining the rank of sergeant and was a member of the American Legion Post #77 in Hendersonville.

Mr. Tustin was a lifelong avid Red Sox fan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lorraine Donahue of Natick and three step-children, Anthony Bove and his wife, Donna of Spencer, Patricia Wheeler and her husband, Jim of Oxford and Mark Bove of Georgia. He is also survived by a brother, Warren Cook of Washington DC, a sister, Juanita Daly of Wakefield, twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was a brother of the late Earl Cook and Helen Reams and step-father of the late Francis Bove.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, June 9 from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway followed by a funeral Mass at St. Brendan’s Church, 382 Hartford Ave. (Rte. 126) in North Bellingham at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:15 p.m.
