Mrs. June Barrett Jones, 69, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, June 7 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Ocilla Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Jones was born June 8, 1939 in Emanuel County to the late Elon B. and Inez Sammons Barrett. She moved to Irwin County in 1969 from Emanuel County. Mrs. Jones retired after more than 33 years of service as the Municipal Court Clerk for the City of Ocilla. She was a former employee of Irwin Manufacturing and she attended Pine Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jones is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond & Laura Jones of Irwinville and Barron & Charlene Jones both of Ocilla; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, William & Judy Barrett of Eastman and a sister, Ruby Cavannah of Swainsboro as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Jones, Sr. and five brothers.
