Dorothy M. (MacGregor) Fifield, 97, a longtime resident of Sharon passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 3, 2009 at the Highgate Manor in Dedham. She was the beloved wife of the late Linwood T. Fifield who died on January 31, 1979.
Born in McKinleyville, New Brunswick, Canada on August 20, 1911 she was a daughter of the late George A. and Amanda Jane (Clark) MacGregor.
She grew up and was educated in Canada and was a graduate of the Brunswick Hospital Training School for Nursing in Maine.
In addition to being a dedicated homemaker to her loving family Mrs. Fifield had also been employed as a Registered Nurse at Boston City Hospital.
She enjoyed the wonderful times spent with her adoring family and was proud of her Canadian heritage. She had made her home in Sharon for the past 81 years.
She is survived by her devoted children Evelyn M. Steele of Mansfield, Robert A. Fifield of Sharon and Kathleen L. Timmons of Dedham. The sister of Boyd MacGregor of Alberta, Canada she was predeceased by 7 siblings. Dorothy is also survived by her cherished grandchildren George L. Steele of Brighton and Katelin M. Timmons of Dedham.
Private funeral services and burial was held in New Brunswick, Canada. Visitation was omitted.
