DRACUT - David E. Vercontaire, 58, a lifelong resident of the Town of Dracut, died Tuesday evening June 2, 2009 in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. He was the beloved husband for 35 years of Ellen (Neofotistos) Vercontaire of Dracut.
Born in Lowell on April 17, 1951, he was the son of Ann (Gibson) Vercontaire of Dracut and the late Donald Vercontaire. He received his education in the Dracut School System and was a graduate of Dracut High School class of 1969. He went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH.
Mr. Vercontaire had been employed for 20 years as a Facilities Manager by The Rockport Company in Lancaster.
He was a member of Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell.
In his free time he enjoyed trips to Naples, Florida and playing golf. His passion was the cherished time he spent in the company of his family and friends.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter Alexandra Vercontaire of Dracut; a son Steven Vercontaire and his companion Angela Rioux of Nashua, NH; a sister Donna Baribeault and her husband Don of Dracut; three sisters-in-law Angela Busby and her husband John, Sheila Graham and her husband Steve, and Penny Neofotistos all of Dracut; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also the brother of the late John Vercontaire.
Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Friday from 4 until 8 PM. His Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday at 12 noon followed by his Funeral Service at 1 PM in Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell.
