
Mrs. Kathryn A. (Sullivan) Pierson, a lifelong resident of Medford, died at the Winchester hospital on June 1, 2009. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony G. Pierson.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on July 28, 1919, she was the loving daughter of the late Timothy J. and Catherine A. (Daly) Sullivan. Mrs. Pierson was a lifelong member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Medford.
Kathryn had been an active member of the parish and involved in the St. Francis Mother’s Club. In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing and performing in parish Minstrel Shows. She also enjoyed playing bingo and spent her summers at her beach house in Hampton, New Hampshire. Above all, Kathryn was devoted to her family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be sorely missed by her four daughters and three sons-in-law; A. Darlene Lynch of Melrose, Catherine and her husband Michael Maher of Sudbury, Gail and her husband Charles Richard O’Brien of Medford, and Mary Jane and her husband Stephen Soroka of Billerica, thirteen grandchildren, Laurie Houle, Kristen Fennelly, Michael, Sean and Matthew Maher, Kathryn Riordan, Jessica Baker, Jeffrey and Martin Ford, Eric O’Brien and Ashley, Jennifer and Stephen Soroka, seven great-grandchildren and son-in-law Martin J. Ford and the late William P. Lynch, Jr. She was also the beloved mother of the late Terry M. Ford and Lisa J. Pierson.
Her funeral was Friday, June 5, at 10 AM from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were Thursday, from 4 to 8 PM.
