Obituary

John C. Nemetz. 79, of Summit Garden, Carbondale, died Friday at home. He and his wife, the former Louise Ziman, would have celebrated 50 years of marriage July 11.

Born in Hazelton, son of the late Michael and Lottie Moraski Nemetz, he was a member of St. Albert's Polish National Catholic Church, Dickson City. He was a graduate of Olyphant High School.

He enlisted in the Navy in 1950 and served during the Korean War. He was a past commander of the Dickson City VFW and a life member of the American Legion. He retired from Stillmeadow.

He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Supinski, Carbondale; three sons, John and wife, Pat, Milford; Charles and wife, Sue, Scranton; and Robert, Montdale; two grandsons, Charles Nemetz Jr. and Jeremy McClemens; two granddaughters, Sarah Supinski and Nikki McClemens; and a great-grandson, Joshua Nemetz.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen; and two brothers, Michael and Joseph Nemetz.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Valley View Cemetery, Montdale, with military honors by the VFW, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
