WORCESTER-Mabel (Pirpos) Kiakis, 99, of 10 Mary Scano Drive, formerly of 16 Healy Road died Monday, July 14th in the Christopher House. Her husband, Thomas H. Kiakis died in 1981. She leaves 2 sons, Harry T. Kiakis and James T. Kiakis both of Laguna Beach, CA; 2 daughters, Rita I. Dudziak of Natick and Helen C. Gould of Vernon, CT; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. A brother, a sister and a stepbrother predeceased her.
She was born in Greece the daughter of Thomas J. and Efrosene Pirpos and moved to Worcester in 1930. Mrs. Kiakis was a homemaker and a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking and her family.
The funeral will be Saturday, July 19th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:30 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, Massachusetts, 01609-1908 or the charity of ones choice.
