Ruby A. (Scott) Eddleston, 94, a lifelong resident of Norton passed away peacefully on Monday June 1, 2009 at her home in Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert N. Eddleston who died on May 1, 1981.
Born in Norton, MA on February 25, 1915 she was a devoted daughter of the late Hugh and Elizabeth (Bryson) Scott.
Ruby grew up in Norton and was a 1933 graduate of Norton High School. After marrying Mr. Eddleston she started her own family to which she served as a dedicated homemaker.
A lifelong member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton, Mrs. Eddleston looked forward to baking for annual church function where her baked goods were always a favorite. She loved gardening and tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She also enjoyed playing the piano but most of all spending time with her 4 generations of loving family members was the essence of Ruby’s life.
She is survived by her loving children Robert S. Eddleston, Sr. and his wife Janice of Norton and Elizabeth A. Precourt and her husband Bud of Norton. She was the dear sister of Ruth M. Scott of Norton and the late Anne Dillon, John Scott, Hugh Scott, Andrew Scott, Malcolm Scott and Roy Scott. Mrs. Eddleston is also survived by her cherished 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Visiting hours have been omitted and those wishing may remember Ruby with a donation made in her memory to the Trinitarian Congregational Church Memorial Fund P.O. Box 2068 Norton, MA 02766.
