Dorothy Mae (Perry) Alves, wife of the late George Alves, died peacefully at Morton Hospital on May 28, 2009.
She was 96.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Margaret J. (Sullivan) Perry.
Educated in Taunton schools, she was later employed by the MA Dept. of Mental Health as a transportation attendant, retiring in 1976.
Mrs. Alves later worked as a home health aide for several years.
An avid card player, she also enjoyed line dancing, traveling, and was a very active member of the Lakeville Council on Aging.
Survivors include 2 sons, George H. Alves of Ashland and Robert K. Alves of Brockton; a daughter, Barbara A. Alves of Mattapoisett; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Marion Fernandes and Clara Grace.
She will be missed by her many, many devoted friends.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
