Obituary

Paul R. "Pokey" Taylor, 67, of 6 Bay Path Road died Wednesday, May 27 in his home after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 38 years Barbara A. (Williams) Taylor. Two daughters Melissa A. Grendell and her husband Dale of Charlton and Laura M. Taylor of Spencer, a brother Earl Taylor of Millbury, a granddaughter Selena I. Taylor and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Taylor was born in Worcester son of Robert and Barbara (Nichols) Taylor. He worked in the receiving department at the Norton Co. for 36 years retiring in 2003. He also worked at the Worcester Centrum as a security guard for many years. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the former St. John's Episcopal Church and was instrumental in starting their basketball team which he coached. He volunteered for many years on the Norton Co. Fire Department. He was a little league coach for many years in Spencer. He enjoyed camping, fishing and bowling.
A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 3 at 11:00 AM in J. Henri Morin & Son Funeral Home, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. A calling hour will preceded the service from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be at a later date at the conveinence of the family. Please omit flowers.
