Edward Robert Klein, 79, Southside, TN, died Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Montgomery Care and Rehab Center. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Pastor William Childress officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born May 16, 1930 in Greenville, PA son of the late Carl E. Klein and Peg Menold Klein. Mr. Klein was a retired Master Sgt E8 with the US Army. He served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the 101st WK&T Chapter, a lifetime member of the VFW, and the 11th Airbourne Association. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and was a self-employed farmer. Survivors include his wife, Janet A. Behringer Klein, Southside, TN; son, Kenneth Klein (Donna), Louisville, KY; daughters, Connie Baggett (Kenneth), Clarksville; and Kimberly Neiman (Ted), Pilger, Nebraska; brothers, Roger L. Klein (Beverly), Erie, PA; and Allan C. Klein (Pat), Clarksville, TN; sisters, Mary Lou DeFonzo (Lou) and Carol A. Eckendorf (Jim), both of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
