LOWELL - Roberta M. (Beauchemin) Abbott, 63, a resident of Lowell, died Tuesday May 26th at Lowell General Hospital. She was the wife of Robert C. Abbott.
She was born in Lowell on August 15, 1945, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Irene A. (Guilmette) Beauchemin. She received her education in Lowell schools.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Abbott was employed for many years as a nurse by Town and Country Nursing Home in Lowell.
She was a great mother and she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her great grandchild. She also loved to spend time with her puppy Sophie Lyn.
She was an avid knitter and crocheter.
She was a communicant of St. Rita Church in Lowell, and she was a member of the VFW Lorraine Post 29 Ladies Auxiliary in Haverhill.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law , Richard and Sharon Abbott of Lowell, and Bruce and Jacqueleen Abbott of Dracut; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cynthia and Steven Bir of Lee, NH, and Linda Abbott and her partner Dave Balakin, both of Lowell; six grandchildren, Richie Abbott Jr. of Lowell, Kat Bir or Lee, NH, and Dan Abbott, Katrina Balakin, Brittany Balakin, and Jessica Abbott, all of Lowell; three step grandchildren, Kerry Tanguay, Kendra Tanguay, and Kurtis Tanguay, all of Lowell; a great grandchild Ayden; a brother Roger Beauchemin of Merrimack, NH; a sister Lorraine Santos of Lowell; a God Son Edward Santos of Lowell and many nieces and nephews.
