Grace Helen (Kyle) Vogel of the Willows in Westborough died May 24 in the Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Westborough at the age of 100.
She was the wife of the late Robert J. Vogel for 66 years.
Born in New York City, October 26, 1908, the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Moody) Kyle, Mrs. Vogel was raised in Manhattan and attended schools in Manhattan where she met her future husband while both were attending New York University.
Mrs. Vogel and her family moved to Bergenfield, New Jersey in 1955.
She and her husband later moved to Southbury, Conn. and then to Westborough.
As a young woman, she worked as a model for commercial products. She was then employed by North Side Savings Bank in New York City for many years. After her relocation to New Jersey, she was employed by the Tenafly, New Jersey Board of Education until her retirement.
Mrs. Vogel was known for her devotion to her family, her skills as a seamstress, her fine penmanship and her talent as a landscape artist, working with pastels ands oils.
She is survived by her children, Robert K. Vogel and his wife, Judith of Weems, VA and Christine Lorenzen and her husband, James of Medway.
She was the sister of the late Sarah and William Kyle.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, David Lorenzen, Karen Nies-Vogel and Kathleen Lorenzen Moorhouse and her great-grandchildren, Evan, Sean and Ryan Moorhouse, Madison and Brenna Lorenzen and Christina Nies.
She was the grandmother of the late Lt. Robert W. Vogel, USN.
A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, May 28 in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Medway.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
