Obituary

William F. Feeney, 79, passed away at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford on May 24th, 2009. He was born in Somerville on March 8th, 1930 to his parents James G. and Mary (Harrigan) Feeney. Bill was raised and educated in Medford, graduating from Medford High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1948 and served during the time of the Korean War. After his service to his country was complete, he enrolled at Boston University, graduating with a degree in Accounting. For many years he worked in Boston as an accountant to the private sector. For the last ten years of his career, Bill was an accountant for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Employment. He was a member and past Chaplain of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Medford. He was also a life member of the American Legion in Medford, a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Back Bay Council, and the Irish American Association of Malden. Bill has resided in Malden for the past 35 years. He is survived by his sister, Catherine Pini of Medford and by several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers James, John and Daniel Feeney and by his sister Irene Connor. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Thursday May 28th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday May 27th from 4-8 PM.
