Barbara Ann Okey (Mame) – 66
Return to her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 25, 2009.
She is preceded in death by her grandson Dustin Hackemack, parents, Harold & Virginia Okey, sister, Marlene DeCore, brother-in-law, Fred DeCore.
She is survived by her children Leslie Ryan (Tony), Bryon Hackemack (Carol), Andrea Geary (David), 4 grandchildren, Ashley & Blake Geary, Richard Hackemack, Nicholas Ryan.
She was a retired inspector for the Louisville Water Company. She volunteered with the disabled and supported many charitable organizations. She was an active member of Incarnation Catholic Church and their senior group.
With Barbara’s warm personality and great sense of humor, her inspiration touched so many lives. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to so many. She was amazing person and after a courageous 4 ½ year battle with cancer, her faith in the Lord was everlasting.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Incarnation Catholic Church with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is Wednesday 12:00 – 8:00 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy can be made to Franciscan Friars and to the Southwest Breast Cancer/Connections Support Group.
