Dorothy Ann (Reall) Fitzpatrick, 68, R.P.T., of Greenville, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 24, 2009.
For 46 years, she was the loving wife of Eugene J. Fitzpatrick. She was a physical therapist who worked at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence for 25 years and at Rhode Island Hospital for four years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. Reall and Catherine L. (McGuirl) Reall. She graduated from St. Xavier Academy in Providence in 1958 and was editor of the school newspaper. She studied physical therapy at the University of Connecticut and graduated with honors in 1962.
Over the years, she was a president of the North Providence Junior Women’s Club, a Boy Scouts den mother, a Girl Scouts leader, a CCD teacher and a volunteer at North Bay Manor in Smithfield. She had lived in Greenville for the past 38 years, and was a communicant of St. Philip Church.
She is survived by her husband; by a daughter, Debra J. (Fitzpatrick) Phillips and her husband John F. Phillips of Bellingham, Mass.; by a son, Edward R. Fitzpatrick and his wife Ellen L. Foley, of Providence; and by three grandchildren, Macie Phillips, Ned Fitzpatrick and Jake Fitzpatrick.
Her greatest joys included spending time with her children and grandchildren, vacationing on Cape Cod and getting together with her family on Christmas Eve.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Georgiaville. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery.
