Ruth C. (Cote) O’Leary, 92 years of East Sandwich, formerly of Brockton, died May 18, 2009. Wife and soul mate for 62 years of the late John “Jack” O’Leary. Born and raised in Brockton, daughter of the late John and Corinne (Allen) Cote. She had been employed as a secretary for 20 years in the Brockton School System. Following her retirement she moved to Cape Cod and volunteered at the Family School in Brewster. She enjoyed spending time with her family, rug braiding, was active in her church and over her lifetime was able to enjoy her many friends.
Ruth was the mother of Jay O’Leary and his wife Carolyn, Bob O’Leary and his wife Kathy and the late Kathleen O’Leary-Lofstrom and her husband David. She leaves nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; and was the sister of the late Malcolm Cote, Geraldine Zarella, Alice Carr and Paul Cote.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated July 2, 2009 at 10 am at Our Lady of Hope Church 1581 Rte 6A. West Barnstable, Burial will follow at 12:30 in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth’s name to Broad Reach Healthcare Hospice and Palliative Care, 390 Orleans Road North Chatham, Massachusetts 02650
