Taunton, Alberta (Ashley) Sarah Allen, a former Taunton resident for most of her life, died Saturday, May 16th 2009 at Harborside Healthcare in Mashpee, after a brief illness. She was 90 years of age. She was born in Taunton. Daughter of the late Clayton and Nettie (Macomber) Ashley. She was the wife of the late Daniel Allen. Prior to retiring, she worked for over 30 years at the Paul Dever School at the payroll office. She also worked for the Taunton Pearl Works. She attended the Taunton Public Schools. She was a lifetime member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Taunton. She was involved with many activities at the church. She also belonged to the Diligent Daughters. She was also involved with the church newsletter “The Messenger.” She taught Sunday school and was involved with the church fair. She also attended the First Methodist Church. She leaves two children Charlotte Davis of Mashpee and Daniel Allen of Andover, NH. She was also the sister of the late Charlotte Forgan and Helen Erwin. She also leaves six grandchildren, Kevin Davis, Cindi Davis, Shawn Costa, Bethany Davis, Tracy Allen, and Daniel Allen Jr. She leaves three great grandchildren, Richard A. Davis, Anthony R, Gomes, and Angelina Davis, and also several nieces and nephews
Funeral Services will be held, Thursday at 2pm at the Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo St (off Tremont St). Relatives and friends invited to attend. Visiting Hours on Thursday from 12pm to 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Salvation Army South St. Taunton Ma.
