Elizabeth Eck passed away at the Cape Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday May 17, 2009 at the age of 96. She was the wife of the late Alton M. Eck. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Barbara Barrett and her husband James of West Barnstable, her grandson, Matthew Barrett of Panama and her great grandchildren Matteo and Isabella Barrett both of Panama. Betty was born in Braintree, grew up in Braintree and Milton and lived in Weymouth for 50 years before moving to Cape Cod 14 years ago. She graduated from Thayer Academy in Braintree in 1931 and Quincy City Hospital Nursing School in 1934. Elizabeth worked as a registered Nurse at Quincy City Hospital, South Shore Hospital in Weymouth and 25 years at the South Shore Medical Center in Norwell. Visiting will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Thursday May 21 from 12 to 1 P.M. followed immediately by a funeral service at 1 P.M.
