Obituary

George J. “Gigi” Jacobs, 59, died Friday, May 15, at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born in Brockton, he was raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1967. He was a resident of Stoughton for over 50 years before moving to Brockton 8 years ago. Mr. Jacobs was a Veteran of the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a Tractor Trailer Driver for McCarthy’s Industries for several years. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 89 in Stoughton and the Teamsters, Local 25. Mr. Jacobs also was a volunteer at the VA Hospital in Brockton. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

He leaves his two sons, Erik G. Jacobs of Middleboro and Jason M. Jacobs of AZ. He was the brother of Steven A. Jacobs of Manomet, Michael E. Jacobs of AZ and Ellen Gourley of Taunton.

Graveside Services will be held at Dry Pond Cemetery, Bay Road at Plain St, Stoughton on Sunday, May 24 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Omitted. Donations in George’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
