Ina (Bovarnick) Kaplan of Chelsea passed away at the Whidden Memorial Hospital on May 15, 2009. She was 76 years old. Born in Malden, MA she lived in Chelsea all her life and was educated in Chelsea schools and graduated from Chelsea High, class of 1951. Ina was a nurse for 32 years before retirement. She worked in Dr. Morris Claymans office in Chelsea for 22 years. Ina was a member of the Temple Emmanuel Sisterhood and former V.P. of Y.M.H.A. of Chelsea.
She was the beloved wife of the late Karl Kaplan. Ina was the devoted mother of Paul Kaplan and his fiancée Dorothea Vlahos and Elliot Kaplan. She was the loving daughter of the late Harris and Bella (Kuton) Bovarnick. Ina was also the loving grandmother of Stephen and Laura.
A chapel service will be held at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., Cary Sq., Chelsea on Wednesday May 20th at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Everett. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society of MA, 9 Riverside Rd., Weston, MA 02493.
