Christina M. Martel, 91, of Danville Road, Plaistow, NH died Wednesday July 9, 2003 at her home following a long illness. She was born in Saugus, MA on January 8, 1912, a daughter of the late Herbert S. and Mellie C. (Jonsen) Allen. She was a resident of Plaistow for most of her life. She was employed as a waitress for Sawyer’s Restaurant in Plaistow for many years before her retirement.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Joseph E, Martel of Plaistow, four sons, Gordon R. Allen of Texas, Joseph E. Martel of Florida, Wilfred E. Martel of Connecticut, George R. Martel of Alabama, nine daughters, Christine LaClair of Lawrence, MA, Yvonne Smith of Danville, NH, Dianne Shaw of Lee, NH, Melvina Prosper of Newton, NH, Nancy Nickel of Florida, Kathleen Martel of Michigan, Eileen Spink of Plymouth, MA, Annette Larocque of Concord, NH, Betsy Martel of Plaistow, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. Private funeral services will be held at the Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry, NH.
