As she was raising her family she volunteered with the Boys and Girls Scouts. She was later employed by Paxton Tennis Centre and John B. Lucivero Associates, Inc.
She had a lifelong passion for cooking and entertaining, which included hosting holiday gatherings and Sunday family dinners. Time spent with her family whether it was in her home, by the pool, or at the Cape was always a joyous time for all.
She introduced her family to yoga in the early 1970s, developed a passion for tennis which she took up at age fifty one, and enjoyed her daily neighborhood walks throughout the years. As a lover of all types of music, her house was always alive with tunes courtesy of her children then, grandchildren, or her favorite albums, later turned CDs.
After her husband passed away, she built a smaller home in Paxton next door to the one where they had raised their family. While living independently, she cultivated a passion for gardening, yard work, and traveling. Throughout her late 70s and 80s, with Haig by her side, her adventures included hiking Purgatory Chasm, swimming with the dolphins in the Bahamas, and touring the country, exploring such areas as the Lewis and Clark trail, the Oregon Trail, and Yosemite National Park.
For their 80th birthday, Louise and Virginia were thrown a surprise party in which lots of friends and family celebrated with them.
