Obituary

WORCESTER
Martin "Junior" Walsh, 65, of Worcester, died peacefully on Thursday, May 14th at home after a brief illness.
Martin is survived by his 3 children, Tony of Iowa, Martin and Eileen of Illinois. He also leaves behind his beloved companion of 22 years, Kathleen Gallivan and her 3 children, Patrick Gallivan of Oxford, Mary Minor of Worcester and Ann Moore of Northbridge. His sisters, Maureen, Bernadette and Geraldine of Ireland, Trisha and Maggie of England, his brothers, Johnny, Richard and Tony of Ireland, Nick of England and Tom of Illinois. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Dylan and Lillian, as well as many nieces and nephews and good friends. He is predeceased by his sister, Helen of Ireland and his brother Matt of England. He was born in Carrick-on Suir, County Tipperary, Ireland son of the late Martin and Margaret Walsh.
Marty was currently employed at the College of the Holy Cross and was previously employed by New England Envelope. Marty lived in Chicago for several years where he became an avid fan of Chicago sports teams. Marty also enjoyed keno, scratch tickets, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family and friends. He was also known for his love of Irish music, dancing, and he had an exceptional singing voice, He was a former member of the A.O.H. and a regular singer at the Sunday Seisiuns. Marty lived life to the fullest and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 19th from the Callahan & Fay Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Johns’s Church, burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 18th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
