Obituary

Czeslawa ”Charlotte” (Korytkowski) Weglarz, 73 of Bellingham and formerly of Franklin died May 14 in her home. She was the wife of the late Ludwik Weglarz who died in 1983.
Born in Gielczyn, Poland, July 5, 1935, the daughter of the late Stanislaw and Leokadia (Gromek) Korytkowski, Mrs. Weglarz had lived in Franklin from 1986 until two years ago when she moved to Bellingham.
Mrs. Weglarz was 4 when the German Army invaded Poland. The Germans ordered her family to leave their farm immediately.
She along with her mother and grandmother left on an Odyssey that took them to Russia, Siberia, Egypt and finally to Tanzania in Africa.
Mrs. Weglarz’s father who was not with them when the Germans came joined the British Army and because of that his family was sent to a special camp in Tanzania for families of Polish refugees that were fighting with the British.
Following the War, she moved to England where she lived for several years and met her future husband.
In 1955, they moved to Brooklyn, New York where she lived until coming to Franklin.
Mrs. Weglarz had worked for the Hascon Company and also for Bloomingdales in New York.
She and her late husband loved to go ballroom dancing and to have dinner parties with their extended family.
She is survived by her daughter, Halina Lawler of Bellingham. She is also survived by her sister, Irene Dzieciaszek of Long Island, New York and her sons, Tom and Andy and Andy's family, Jessica, Julia and Matthew. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her special friends, Fran and Emily.
She was the sister of the late Teddy Korytkowski.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, May 18 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5 - 7 p.m.
