Inez Herndon Harris Namanny, 84, of Tifton died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Kyle Taft and Rev. Rickey Wells will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Roy Ray, Erric Roberts, Tommy Steve Hayes, Julian Roberts, Jason Harris, Randy Clark, Vince Gilliard and Ronnie Harris will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 15, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Namanny was born on June 3, 1924 and was the daughter of Jessie Herndon and Ruby Hooks Herndon, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Aren Benjamin Harris, her second husband, Fred Namanny; two sons, Junior Harris and Jerry Harris; and one daughter, Louise Leggett. She was a retired cashier with Holiday Market and a member of Calvary Holiness Church. She had lived most of her life (55 years) in Tifton.
Ms. Namanny was a very loving mother, who always put her children before herself. She loved the Lord and raised her children to love each other. She was a great woman, who loved to be surrounded by her whole family and loved to cook for them on Sunday. She will be sadly missed by each and every one of them.
Ms. Namanny is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Beth Harris of Covington, Thomas and Wanda Harris of Tifton, Wayne and Sarah Harris of Omega and Teddy and Angela Harris of Tifton; three daughters and one son-in-law, Mattie Mae Bentley of Tifton, Thelma Clark of Tifton and Carolyn and A. J. Roberts of Ashburn; two sisters, Elvie Boudowen of Lamont, Florida and Sadie Bowden of Tallahassee, Florida; 34 grandchildren; 76 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren.
