Obituary

WORCESTER-Mary V. (Cashmon) Armstrong, 73, of 37 Dutton Street died Saturday, July 5th in UMass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus. She leaves her husband of 47 years, James V. Armstrong, Jr.; a son, William J. Armstrong currently serving in Afghanistan; a brother, Charles Cashmon of Bourbonnais, IL and many nieces and nephews. 5 brothers, John, Thomas, Paul, Robert and James Cashmon and a sister, Elizabeth Cashmon predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of John E.F. and Adelaide (Gleason) Cashmon. She graduated from Commerce High School and attended City Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Armstrong was a secretary at City Hospital for many years before retiring. Previously, she worked as a secretary at Doctors Hospital and as a salesperson at T.J.Maxx. She was a member of North American Martyrs Church and their women’s club and was president of the Malvern Road PTA.

The funeral will be Saturday, July 12th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a mass at 11:00 AM in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, July 11th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
