Obituary

Robert E. Kelley Sr. of Stoughton, passed away suddenly Friday July 4,2003 at the Brockton Hospital, he was 74 years old.

Born April 13,1929 he was the son of the late John A.and Gladys (White) Kelley. He was a lifelong resident of Stoughton. He Attended Stoughton schools, and Graduated from Stoughton High School.

Mr. Kelley was employed by the Shawmut Woolen Mills in Stoughton before enteringThe United States Army. While serving his country in Germany, Mr. Kelley was involved in the Korean Conflict. As a result of his bravery , Mr. Kelley received The Army Occupation Medal for his dedicated service. He retired with the rank ofCorporal.

Mr. Kelley returned to Stoughton, and was employed by the town for over 25 years.He worked in the Forestry Department, and then became the Foreman at the townsTransfer and Recycling Center, where he ran the daily operations.

Mr. Kelley was very dedicated to the town of Stoughton, and to his family.

Mr. Kelley was a member of both the American Legion Post 89 and the VFW Post 1645In Stoughton.

He is survived by his children, Robert E. Kelley Jr., Mary Beswick and Daniel P. Kelley,All of Stoughton and Doreen Morrison of Brockton; a brother James R. Kelley of Stoughton; two sisters, Virginia Swallow of Easton and Gladys F. Kelley of Taunton;Several grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his four special treasures;Joey,Barbara, Nick and Tony Gaultier, whom he loved dearly.He was also the brother of the Late John F. and Myles M. Kelley.

His funeral service will be at 9 A.M. Tuesday from the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton, followed by a funeral mass at 10:15 A.M. in the ImmaculateConception Church, 122 Canton Street, Stoughton. Burial will follow at Holy SepulchreCemetery, Stoughton.

Visiting hours are on Monday July 7,2003 from 5-8 P.M.
