Frederick S. Esty, 85, of Treadway Lane, Londonderry, NH died Tuesday July 8, 2003 at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. He was born in Newton, MA on September 14, 1917, a son of the late Frederick S. and Susan (Newcomb) Esty Sr. He was a resident of Londonderry, NH since 1992 where he lived with his daughter Phyllis A. Provenzano. He formerly lived in Holbrook, MA and Deerfield, NH in homes he had built himself. He was employed as a marine electrician for General Dynamics, formerly known as Bethlehem Steel, in Quincy, MA until his retirement in 1980. He was a former member of the Methodist Mens Club in Holbrook, MA. He enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years. He also enjoyed gardening and working on small projects. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy M. (Rushforth) Esty in 1992.
He is survived by his four children, Kenneth Esty and his wife Rose of Phoenix, AZ, Phyllis A. Provenzano of Londonderry, NH, Donna Condon and her husband David of Kenai, Alaska and Santa Maria, CA, Aurelia Rushforth of Middleboro, MA, six grandchildren, Anthony Provenzano Jr, Patrice Provenzano, David Condon, Shannan Limon, Beth Stoddard, Theresa Meshnick, 21 great grandchildren and Mr. Esty’s care giver Karen Fitzgerald. He was predeceased by two grandsons, William Provenzano, and Bruce Rushforth Jr, and two great grandchildren, Felicia Provenzano and Ryan Provenzano.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 12, 2003 at 10:00am at the Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Burial will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry, NH. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 7 - 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, NH Chapter, 10 Ferry Street, Suite 427B, Concord, NH 03301.
