WORCESTER-Francisco Arce, 70, of 45 Mower Street died Tuesday, July 8th at home after a short illness. He leaves his wife of 47 years, Marina (Caban) Arce; 2 sons, Luis R. Arce of Paxton and George I. Arce of Worcester; a daughter, Maggie Bowen of Leicester; a brother, Miguel A. Arce of Orange; 6 sisters, Severina Arce of Puerto Rico, Carlina Ortega of Puerto Rico, Arcadia Arce of Puerto Rico, Margot Orriol of Puerto Rico, Julia Arce of Patterson, NJ and Josefa Arce of Puerto Rico; 6 granddaughters; a great grandson; many nephews and nieces.
He was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico the son of Juan I. and Prudencia (Navarro) Arce moving to Barre in 1956 and Worcester in 1969. He graduated high school in Puerto Rico. Mr. Arce worked as a molder for Charles G. Allen Foundry in Barre for 38 years until retirement. He was a member of Estrella De Jacob Church in Worcester for many years. Previously he was a member of Roca De Salvacion Church in Worcester, for 24 years, and enjoyed writing poetry.
The funeral will be Friday, July 11th at 11:00 AM in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park. Calling hours are Thursday, July 10th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
