Obituary

WORCESTER-William F. O’Connor, 80, of Worcester died Sunday, May 10th in Radius Healthcare Center. His wife of 50 years, Lillian V. (Alexanderovich) O’Connor died in 1999. He leaves a son, Stephen T. O’Connor; a daughter, Kathleen A. O’Connor both of Worcester; a brother, John B. O’Connor of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren, Heather, Keith and Sean O’Connor; and a great granddaughter, Mackenzie O’Connor.
He was born in Worcester the son of Francis P. and Alice (Harraher) O’Connor. Mr. O’Connor worked for Melville Shoe Company for 45 years as a pressman and worked at Casey’s Diner in the 1930’s. William was the official Santa Claus of the City of Worcester in the 1970’s. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church, the Knights of Columbus and was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, The Catholic Men’s Bowling League and the Council’s of St. Paul’s Cathedral and St. Peter’s Parish. Mr. O’Connor enjoyed fishing.
The funeral is Thursday, May 14th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, May 13th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
