Mary (Nunes) Nunes, 72, of New Bedford died May 9, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Nunes, Sr.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John and Elvira (Medeiros) Nunes, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, dancing and playing Bingo.
Survivors include her son, Joseph A. Nunes, Jr. and his wife Melissa of Dartmouth; a daughter, Ann Marie Sullivan and her husband Denis of East Taunton; a brother, Henry Nunes of Virginia; 4 grandchildren, Sean Sullivan, Elizabeth Sullivan, Jonathan Nunes and Jordan Nunes.
She was the sister of the late Elsie Viera, Josephine Allain, John Nunes, Manuel Nunes, Lloyd Nunes and Louis Nunes.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 13th at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday, May 12th from 5-8 PM.
