WORCESTER-Denis J. O’Connor, 41, of 4 Boynton Parkway, Paxton, formerly of 59 Longfellow Road, died Monday, July 7th in U-Mass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus after being stricken ill. He leaves his parents, John F. and Dolores H. (Beaudin) O’Connor; a brother, Neil J. O’Connor of Worcester; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was born in Worcester and lived here before moving to Paxton 3 months ago. He was a 1980 graduate of St. John’s High School and attended Merrimack College and served in the Army for four years. Mr. O’Connor worked as a radiology technician at U-Mass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus for the past 17 years. He was a member of St. John’s High School Alumni Association, Vernon Hill American Legion Post and was an avid golfer.
After cremation, the funeral will be Friday, July 11th with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street. Committal of Ashes will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either St. John’s High School Alumni Association, 378 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545 or to the St. Francis Home, 101 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01604. O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue is directing funeral arrangements.
