Laconia-----Marie L. Jordan, 90, of 320 Old Lakeshore Road, Gilford, died at the St. Francis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center on Wednesday, May 6, 2009. Mrs. Jordan was the widow of Gaston P. Jordan who died in 1974.
Mrs. Jordan was born October 20, 1918 in Laconia, the daughter of Pierre and Leda (Laroche) Lacasse. She was a lifetime resident of Laconia and was employed at Gouin Plumbing & Heating for twenty-five years before retiring in 1986.
Mrs. Jordan was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Lakeport and volunteered at the New To You Shop.
Mrs. Jordan was the former owner and operator of the Park View Hotel at the Weirs. She was a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Drive and a longtime treasurer for the Lakes Region Sled Dog Club and Edge-of-Woods.
Mrs. Jordan is survived by two sons, Paul Jordan of Gilford and Richard Jordan of Delaware and several nephews, nieces and cousins. In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Jordan was predeceased by her ten siblings.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington St., Lakeport.
